Reclaimed Work Shirt- White Mage Original Design

With the prompt to take a blue-collar work shirt and the gendered notions that come with it and use it to create a new, gender-neutral fashion, I chose to explore the typically feminine-gendered notions of the healer class in role-playing video games. Considering 19th century ideas of women’s clothing being “difficult, deceptive, and foolish”, while men’s clothing was “honest, comfortable, and utilitarian”, I used the masculine base materials and tailcoat influence to create a design that is certainly on the difficult and foolish side, but intended to fit a male form, to really jumble up the stereotypical ideas of gender into a new and striking design.
