"Making Modern" Garment Design

With the prompt to take 19th century style and create a sample for a modern garment, I worked with 1890s gowns produced by the House of Worth to inspire my puff sleeve dress. The quilted radiant pattern is inspired by the Japonism movement of the time, with designs inspired by Japanese motifs.
